Nick Kale Elected as USOC Athlete Representative

 

Colorado Springs, CO - Nick Kale of Chula Vista, Calif. has been elected to the position of U.S. Olympic Committee  (USOC) Athlete Representative for the sport of archery. In his new capacity, Kale will serve on the USOC Athlete Advisory Council (AAC), and the USA Archery Board of Directors, for the 2013-2016 term.

 

"I believe that I can bring the passion that I have for the sport of archery into this position," noted Kale in his Nominee Statement. "I hope to be able to use my knowledge, as well as input from the USA Archery athletes, to continue to grow the sport nationally as well as assist in supporting the international teams so that they can succeed."

 

Kale brings over twelve years of competitive archery experience to the position, first as a Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) athlete, and then as a collegiate archer at James Madison University, from which Kale graduated with a degree in Sports Management. A Resident Athlete since 2008, Kale has competed on the national and international level, and is a member of the 2013 United States Archery Team.

 

Kale's election has been confirmed by the USA Archery Nominating and Governance Committee. Eligible athletes voted electronically to endorse Kale's candidacy, which was unopposed. The Alternate position for the USOC Athlete Advisory Council currently remains open; click here to submit a nomination. Please note that the alternate position must meet eligibility requirements and be the opposite gender as the USOC Athlete Representative. In this case, the alternate nominee would be required to be of female gender.
