Coaching Update: Symposium a Success; Level One Courses Needed

Coach Symposium a Success:

Fifty coaches from around the country gathered at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for the USA Archery Coach Symposium.

Attracting a full house again this year, the Symposium's presentations included Coping Strategies, Recurve Tuning, Compound Tuning, Mental Management, Taking NASP to National Training System, Team Building, Flexor, Anti-Doping and The Coach's Box.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. "Very well organized, insightful topics, great organization and logistical planning," commented one attendee. "Wonderful experience." Noted another participant: "content was very valuable to today's needs.  The content either answered longstanding questions or confirmed current knowledge."

Level One Courses Needed:

Each year USA Archery receives many requests from camps, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Parks and Recreation agencies for Level 1 (Basic) Instructor courses.

Readers who are certified Level 2 (Intermediate) Instructors are certified to teach Level 1 courses.

The bulk of the requests come during the months of April, May and June.  USA Archery is looking to proactively build its calendar of course offerings now in preparation for the upcoming season.

If you are a current Level 2 Instructor, and are interested in conducting a Level 1 course, please contact Darin Erskine at 352-472-2388 or email [email protected].
