Asst Resident Coach Position Available

NADA is seeking to add to the coaching staff at the Easton Archery Center located west of Gainesville, Florida.  This new position, Assistant Resident Archery Coach, is needed due to the steady increase in archery programs at the facility.  This person will work directly with the Head Resident Archery Coach, Robert Romero, will assist in daily archery programs, and will eventually act as a substitute resident coach when Coach Romero is not available for teaching.  This is a full time NADA position. 

This person will have daily interaction with the Head Coach, the Facility Program Supervisor, and the Program Scheduler Coordinator.  Occasionally, there will be interaction with other employees of NADA, with the staff of the Newberry Recreation Department, and with coaches at other archery centers funded by Easton Sports Foundation.  There will also be interaction with various national and regional archery associations and their members.

The archery programs within the facility are supported in part by both NADA and the City of Newberry Recreation Department.  NADA provides marketing and administrative support, and the Newberry Recreation Department provides event support and general maintenance.  The Head Resident Coach is an employee of Easton Sports Foundations, and oversees all archery programs on behalf of the Foundation.  NADA is an equal opportunity employer.  Salary is commensurate with experience.

The Successful Candidate:

  • Have an archery background, or willing to learn archery and how to teach it.
  • Have a background in sports management or experience in sports recreation and willing to learn how to coach the sport of archery.
  • Willing to work with multiple organizations within the facility.
  • Willing to take all courses necessary to eventually become a high-level archery coach in the US Archery system, including learning the National Training System.
  • Willing to learn how to use Dartfish, Quicktime and other photo/video analysis software programs.
  • Have a personality suitable in dealing with children and adults in a public environment on a daily basis.
  • Willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends when necessary.

General Duties:

  • Assist in overseeing the Junior Olympic Archery Program and other community-based archery programs.
  • Assist in overseeing the indoor and outdoor archery ranges.
  • Assist in conducting community-based archery programs, including college teams, leagues, tournaments and events.
  • Assist, or conduct, archery instructor training courses.
  • Assist the Facility Scheduling Coordinator in conducting mobile programs in the surrounding area using the facility's "Discover Archery" mobile van.
  • Oversee all record keeping for facility archery programs.
  • Assist in promotional efforts to increase programs and participation.
  • Manage and inventory the facility's archery program equipment.
  • Travel, as needed, to coaching seminars and other functions related to the job.
  • Assist the Head Resident Coach in any other related needs.

Requirements

  • Flexible working hours including evenings and some weekends.
  • Willing to take all courses necessary to become a high- level archery coach in the US Archery system, including learning the National Training System.
  • Have a background in sports management or experience in sports recreation and willing to learn how to coach the sport of archery.
  • Willing to learn how to use Dartfish, Quicktime and other video analysis software programs.
  • Have a personality suitable in dealing with children and adults in a public environment on a daily basis.
  • Have the ability to use the MS Office suite software and have general knowledge of daily office operations and equipment.
  • Have the physical ability to assist in moving targets on and off the ranges as needed.
  • Have a valid Florida driver's license, and be able to pass comprehensive background check.
  • Be able to work in an English-speaking environment.
