2026 USA Archery OAS State Championship: California

The 2026 USA Archery OAS State Championship is a one-day event consisting of a 30-arrow Qualification Round, and Team and Individual Eliminations. It will be hosted on Saturday, April 4th, 2026, at the Easton Archery Center of Excellence in Chula Vista, California. Parking is free and archer seating will be provided. 

Registration details, a schedule of the event and timing can be found below.  Equipment inspection will be conducted prior to shooting the Qualification Round. Archers will not be permitted to shoot until they have checked-in and had their equipment inspected. All school clubs and competitors must have current USA Archery memberships. 

 

Registration Fees:

·      Program and Junior Varsity: $35/archer (Indoor Range)

·      Elite and Varsity: $40/archer (Outdoor Range)

Seating

Archer seating will be provided; spectators should be prepared to bring their own seating. 

Parents may bring tents and can stake if needed.

Drinking Water[AH1] 

Water will be provided for all archers by the venue.

Outdoor areas will have water coolers available, and indoor areas will offer access to water fountains. Concessions will also be available for purchase through the Center.

Venue Restrictions

Tents may be set up behind the archer area. Only service animals are permitted at the facility.

Parking

Parking is free in the lot; archers and parents will need to walk down to the Center and field of play. 

Food

The Center will have concessions available for purchase at the front desk. You are also welcome to bring any prepared food items you may need for the day or arrange for a parent volunteer to pick up meals from nearby restaurants for the team.

Shooting Divisions

The tournament will include three shooting divisions – Barebow (recurve), Recurve, Basic Compound, and Compound. Definitions and requirements for each division are outlined by World Archery and/or USA Archery and can be found in the following locations:

Basic Compound: 

Only one Basic Compound bow will be permitted: One Product Only–Genesis Bow or Kit. Maximum draw weight will be 20lbs.

Compound Division:
Only one compound bow will be permitted: One Product Only–Genesis X (Archers USA) Bow or Kit. Maximum draw weight 40lbs.

Tournament Format

Qualification Round

All divisions will have 2 official practice ends followed by 10 ends of official scoring. Ends will consist of 3 arrows/ 2-minute end, providing for a total of 30 scored arrows. 

 

The shooting distances and target sizes vary by division and are outlined below:
Age Class/Division Information

·      Middle School Program: 9 meters/60cm target face

·      Middle School Elite: 18 meters/60cm target face

·      High School Junior Varsity: 18 meters/60cm target face

·      High School Varsity: 18 meters/40cm target face

Dress Code

As a USA Archery Sanctioned event, all participants are required to abide by all dress code guidelines at all times (including Official Practice), as outlined by USA Archery.
