2021 USA Archery Arizona State JOAD Outdoor Championships

2021 Arizona State JOAD Outdoor Championships hosted by Corner Archery and Corner Kidz JOAD.

Current COVID-19 restrictions limit the size of the tournament to approximately 72 archers per day. There is no limit to family members that can attend however its required that social distancing is practiced and masks are required for archers while scoring at the bale and for all attendees when a distance of six (6) feet can not be obtained from non-family members.

 USAA-ARIZONA Outdoor JOAD Championship Format

• Saturday 04/24/2021 - Recurve Bow & Barebow

  • Two (2) Scoring of 36 arrows for a total of 72 arrows and a max score of 720.

  • Long Lunch Break

  • Elimination Rounds.

• Sunday 04/25/2021 - Compound Bow

  • Two (2) Scoring of 36 arrow for a total of 72 arrows and a max score of 720.

  • Long Lunch Break

  • Elimination Rounds

Youth JOAD Divisions:

• Recurve Junior shoot 70M

• Recurve Cadet shoot 60M

• Recurve Cub shoot 50M

• Recurve Bowmen shoot 30M

• Compound Cadet/Junior shoot 50M

• Compound Cub shoot 30M

• Compound Bowmen 25m

• Barebow Junior shoot 50M

• Barebow Cadet shoot 50M

• Barebow Cub shoot 30M

• Barebow Bowmen shoot 30M

• Yeoman Compound or Recurve shoot 15m (This is the distance set by USA Archery and distance required to win a state award)

Target Face – Recurve and Barebow shooters will shoot at a 122cm target face. Compound shooters will shoot at a 80cm 6-ring target face. 

MEMBERSHIP – USAA/NAA membership listing Arizona residence is required to compete for the State Championship recognition. If your USAA membership expires prior to the official start date of the tournament, a copy of your USAA membership renewal and payment must accompany your tournament Registration Form. Your application will not be considered complete until your current membership is on file with the USAA. All archers must show USAA membership card at the tournament registration table. USA Archery Dress Code

***USAA Dress Code will be enforced…this includes official practice sessions***

***ARIZONA GAME AND FISH MASK REQUIREMENT***

• ARIZONA GAME AND FISH REQUIRES ARCHERS AND SPECTATORS TO WEAR A MASK OR PROTECTIVE FACE COVERING WHILE ON THE PROPERTY. THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS WHEN AN ARCHER IS ON THE SHOOTING LINE AND SHOOTING ARROWS. THE MASK MAY BE REMOVED AT THIS TIME.

 Arrow Requirements (World Archery, Book 3):

• 11.1.7. Arrows of any type may be used provided they comply with the common meaning of the word “arrow” as used in target archery, and do not cause undue damage to target faces or butts.

• All arrows of every athlete shall be marked with the athlete’s name or initials on the shaft. All arrows used in any end shall be identical and shall carry the same pattern and colour(s) of fletching, nocks and cresting, if any.

• Tracer nocks (electrically/electronically lighted arrow nocks) are not allowed.

YOUTH DIVISIONS:
“Junior” through the calendar year of their 20th birthday

“Cadet” through the calendar year of their 17th birthday

“Cub” through the calendar year of their 14th birthday 

“Bowman” through the calendar year of their 12th birthday

“Yeoman” through the calendar year of their 9th birthday (Minimum age of 6)

• Must be able to SAFELY use a bow

• Shooting is at discretion of tournament director

• JOAD registration fee: $55.00

• Late - JOAD registration fee: $70.00

Registration is open until the venue is full, which may occur before the registration deadline of April 21, 2021. NO SAME DAY REGISTRATION *********** Late registration accepted on space available basis *************  USAA AZ residents will be given registration preference

FOOD / BEVERAGE

Corner Archery will have a snack bar with drinks and snacks available to purchase.

Water will be free for all archers available near the D.O.S. stand.

There will be NO food vendor on site. Food/Restaurants are located east of the I-17 on Carefree Hwy.
