Scouting America Leaders Level 1 Practical Course

This is for Scouting America Leaders Registration only

Registration starts at 0800 hrs. the course starts at 0830 hrs.; level 1 will end at 1200 hrs. level 2 will lasts until approximately 5:30pm (Pacific Time), and will be held at camp Easton, located on Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, if you need to come a day early, lodging may be available, otherwise camping is always allowed.

 

USA Archery Level 1 Instructor

This course is for individuals wanting to become certified as a Level 1 Instructor.  Level 1 certification is not a prerequisite to take the Level 2 Online course.

The USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certification course provides graduates with the necessary tools to maintain a high level of safety both on and off the archery range for camps and beginner archery programs. To successfully complete the requirements for this certification, students must successfully pass the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification online course, including the online exam and register for and complete the "in-person" USA Archery Level 1 Instructor practical course to officially receive a USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certificate of completion.

The USA Archery Level 1 Instructor will learn about range safety, range setup, the steps of shooting, equipment and repair, programs and lesson plans and is well prepared to teach beginner archery programs to people of all ages and abilities in a variety of disciplines. This online course is self-paced and will take approximately 3 hours to complete.

What a Level 1 Instructor can do for Scouting:

o   Be a Merit Badge Counselor for Archery.

o   Run an Archery range for Scouts BSA, Venturing and Sea Scouts and Cub Scouts.

o   Can teach Archery Range Master training for Cub Scout Archery.

Certification Requirements for Level 1 Instructor: (cost $40 plus Practical cost $20)

o   Create a free account at USA Archery

o   Online Course Cost: $40 (plus sales tax as applicable by state)

o   Practical Course Length: 4 Hours ($20)

o   Certification Period: Three years from the date of the course completion

To Complete Registration:

·         Please follow these steps to take the online Level 1 course:

·         go to https://usarchery.sport80.com/login

·         Create a FREE account (Watch this video on How to Create a Free Account)

·         While logged in, click "Courses" on the left

·         In the course search, type in 38360 and search for that event

·         Select “Enter” and then “Next”

·         Click "Add New Entry”

·         Select Add to the right of your name

·         Follow the prompts to check out

That will empty your cart, and you may see “Complete” to the right of your name. After that you will access the course and will need to complete the online course prior to the practical course. Determine if you are in the full screen view or minimized mobile view. If you are in the full screen view, you will see a column of options on the left. If your screen is minimized, on a tablet or mobile device you will see the mobile view.

To access the courses, follow these steps once you are logged into your account:

·         Selection of "Access Online Courses" from the far-left menu.

·         You will be automatically redirected to the USA Archery Education Hub to access and complete your course.

Please note that once you complete the online course, you will need to register for the Practical Course. To find a practical course, please search the USA Archery Practical Course Locator or search our Coach Locator by Type - Instructor Trainer. You can contact current certified Instructor Trainers and request a practical.
