USA archers aiming to take Gator Cup momentum into Pan American Youth and Masters Championships

MEDELLIN, Colombia – Almost 50 U.S. archers are in South America to represent their country at the 2026 Pan American Youth and Masters Championships, which run until May 28.

In all, 48 archers have been named to the USA's roster, with ages ranging from 13 to 76. The youngest is Tucker Craig, with Rick Stonebraker 63 years his senior (both pictured).

From U15 to 50+, across barebow, compound and recurve, the USA has archers arriving in form and with recent success offering them momentum.

Among the team is Keegan Benton (barebow U21 men), who won gold last weekend in Lansing, Mich. at the HotelPlanner USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals.

Then there are gold medalists from last month’s Easton Foundations Gator Cup, including Maverick Lewis (compound U18 men), Mark Williams (recurve 50+ men), Janis Grellner (recurve 50+ women), Brian Johnson (barebow 50+ men), Melissa McAvoy (barebow 50+ women), Yeshaswini Tati (recurve U21 women), Paige Lee (recurve U15 women), Mattingly WaIker (compound U15 women) and Sykes Lamensdorf (barebow U18 men).

Stonebraker claimed silver in barebow 50+ men in Newberry. Second spot in their respective divisions also went to Ted Holland (recurve 50+ men), Jamie McCarrison (recurve 50+ women), Amy Lee (recurve U18 women) and Tucker Craig (compound U15 men).

To highlight the depth of talent, the following archers also podiumed at Gator Cup: Ali Gungoraydinoglu (recurve 50+ men), Michelle O’Donnell (barebow 50+ women), Alain Pinto (recurve U15 men), Gracelyn Sinclair (compound U15 women), Pranav Sanjay (barebow U18 men) and Ayana Butt (barebow U18 women).

When this event was last held, in El Salvador two years, the USA team finished top of the medals table with 12 gold, eight silver and four bronze. Looking to win medals at back-to-back Pan American Youth and Masters Championships will be Ayana Butt, Janis Grellner, Liam Lee and Melissa McAvoy.
