Foley set for competitive few days and the 10th edition of USA Archery Collegiate 3D Nationals

FOLEY, Ala. – The University of Rio Grande return to defend their title at the HotelPlanner USA Archery Collegiate 3D Nationals, which begin on Thursday and run until Saturday.

Rio Grande claimed the Overall Team Championship title last year, denying University of the Cumberlands an eighth straight title. Cumberlands will also be in Foley, eager to battle their way back to the top of the podium.

University of the Cumberlands will boast the largest presence in Alabama, with 49 archers representing the Kentucky school this week. Other schools traveling in numbers include Rio Grande (33), Lindsey Wilson University, William Carey University (both 30), University of Pikeville, Texas A&M (both 26), Midway University (23), Campbellsville University, Muskingum University (both 22), Union Commonwealth University (19) and Lindenwood University (18).

Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Missouri Valley College Archery in Marshall and PRCC (Pearl River Community College) in Poplarville, Mississippi all made their Collegiate 3D Nationals debut last year. All three return in 2026.

In all, nearly 500 athletes will compete in Foley this week, representing 35 schools, a far cry from the 73 archers who took part in the first Collegiate 3D Nationals nine years ago.

First held in 2017, this year’s event will be the 10th edition, and involves barebow, compound, fixed pins and recurve. There will be two rounds of individual competition at the Graham Creek Nature Preserve, one on Thursday afternoon and the second on Friday morning.

The Individual Class Shoot-Down is scheduled for the Friday afternoon. Saturday morning brings the Official Team Rounds, before archers head indoors to the Foley Event Center on Saturday evening for the Mixed Equipment Team Rounds.

Medal matches for the Mixed Equipment Team Rounds will be broadcast live on USA Archery's YouTube channel. You can follow the scores and keep up to date on photos from each session.
