RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – Brady Ellison makes his first appearance at a 2026 Indoor World Series event when he takes his place on the line in Rio de Janeiro this weekend.
The recurve men’s world number one is seeking to win the overall Indoor World Series (IWS) title for a third year in a row. Ellison did not feature in any of the first three events on the 2026 IWS circuit, which were held in Switzerland, Luxembourg and Chinese Taipei.
This is the first time that Rio has hosted an IWS stage, with Ellison joined in Brazil by compatriots Jose Drapeau (compound men), Gaius Carter (compound men), Nicholas D'Amour (recurve men) and Archana Kongara (barebow women). D’Amour and Carter will be making their third IWS appearance of the season, having featured in the two European stages. Drapeau was at last month's Swiss Open.
A total of 177 competitors from 11 countries will compete across 10 disciplines, including senior and under-21 recurve and compound events, as well as both men’s and women’s barebow. This is the fourth of seven stages on the Indoor World Series circuit, culminating in the prestigious Vegas Shoot at the end of March.
Schedule
Friday, December 12: Qualifying (two sessions)
Saturday, December 13: Eliminations and finals (barebow and U21)
