USA Archery Launches "Shooting for Gold" Fundraising Initiative

Colorado Springs, CO - If ever there was a time to be excited about the sport of archery, it's now. USA Archery athletes and teams currently have a number one world ranking in six out of eight categories. Team USA archers brought home sixteen medals in junior and senior categories at this week's World Archery Indoor Championships. And if the London Test Event was any indicator, the USA is poised for success at the Olympic Games.

Today, USA Archery kicks off one of its most important initiatives, called "Shooting for Gold:" an effort to raise funds to support the team and the organization in the lead-up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Hoping to capitalize on the excitement of 2012, USA Archery has launched a peer donation engine, which is a secure online portal that will allow people to raise funds for USA Archery, or make a one-time donation to the organization. Click to get started at http://giving.usarchery.org.

USA Archery is also offering incentives to help generate excitement: for every $500 raised or donated by a single party, they will receive a limited edition and exclusive Olympic archery shirt and hat that will not be available anywhere else. The top overall fundraiser as of the end of the campaign will receive a brand new Hoyt bow of their choice, and a trip to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, where the lucky winner will work with US National Coaches and Olympic Team members to set up and work with their new equipment. "I am personally appealing to every single person who is passionate about the sport of archery to get involved in this effort," says Denise Parker, USA Archery CEO. "Whether we bowhunt, shoot target, 3-D or field, we all love archery. By supporting the Olympic team and pipeline development programs, you are helping to ensure that archery continues to grow and is available as an option for younger and older athletes across the United States."

To get started, visit http://giving.usarchery.org. Those who raise funds will be able to create a personal fundraising page with just a few clicks, which will allow fundraisers to correspond with all of their contacts, share via Facebook and Twitter, integrate video and photos, and communicate easily and effectively to raise funds on behalf of the organization. Donations can be made online quickly and securely. The system will help fundraisers to track donations, and sends thank you notes automatically. Those who wish to simply donate once may also do so through a link on the website's front page.  There is also an easy to use step-by-step guide for getting started - click here to view step by step guide.
