LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The archers have been confirmed for the 2024 USA Archery Indoor Nationals Final, which takes place inside the Kentucky International Convention Center on March 14 and involves the best from barebow, compound and recurve.
Returning for 2024 will be all four winners from the men’s and women’s recurve and compound, which means an opportunity for Casey Kaufhold to claim the recurve women’s title for a fifth successive year. All eight archers in the recurve women division will resume their Olympic journey next month in Arizona with Stage 3 of Olympic Trials Qualification.
Elsewhere, Jack Williams (recurve men), Paige Pearce (compound women) and Isaac Sullivan (compound men) will all be back in Louisville to defend their crowns.
Sullivan won on his Indoor Nationals Final debut last year, defeating Kris Schaff. Pearce reclaimed her title in 2023 and has won four of the previous five, while Williams defeated Brady Ellison 12 months ago for the win.
Returning this year in the recurve men’s division is 2022 winner Trenton Cowles. He also got the better of Ellison in the final. Ellison was champion in 2021.
There will be men and women divisions for barebow at this year’s final. Among those featuring in the men’s division will be top qualifier from the 14 regional events, Kyle Coffey, who claimed gold at last year’s USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals in Statesboro, Ga. He can expect tough competition from the likes of Marcus Cooley, Matt Hudson and brothers Brian and Nick Way. Brian was runner-up three years ago.
A strong field will also be assembled in barebow women, led by Fawn Girard. The 2023 USA Archery U.S. Open champion Francesca Benavidez will be in Louisville, as will 2023 Buckeye Classic and Gator Cup winner Maggie Brensinger and 2023 Arizona Cup winner Johana Czako.
The gold medal matches will be streamed live via Competition Archery Media and on USA’s Archery Facebook page on Thursday, March 14, from 5pm ET.
With generous support from Black Eagle Arrows, Conquest Archery and Darton Archery (compound division), Lancaster Archery Supply (barebow division) and T.R.U. Ball/AXCEL (recurve division), the total prize purse for the event will be more than $70,000, with payouts to all places.
