The Level 3-NTS Coach Certification Course moves away from a group instruction and focuses on individual athlete development. Students in the Level 3-NTS Coach Certification Course will be introduced to coaching philosophy, event preparation, mental skills, training cycles and plans, equipment tuning and receive advanced instruction on the National Training System (NTS) for Recurve and Compound. Graduates will be qualified to instruct Level 1 Instructor Certification Courses as well as apply for Level 2 Instructor Trainer Certification. In addition they will be qualified to be the lead Instructor for an Explore Archery Program, JOAD Program, Adult Archery Program or Collegiate Archery Program Club. The lead instructor in this course will be Bob Ryder. Bob is a USA Archery Level 4-NTS Coach, Level 3-NTS Coach Trainer, a 4-time National Collegiate Archery Coach of the Year, past All-American, past Collegiate National Champion, past member of the US Archery Team, member of the JMU Athletic Hall of Fame, writer for Archery Focus Magazine and a 2011 recipient of USA Archery's Maurice Thompson Medal of Honor.
