The Competitive Advantage Showdown is the only USAT style outdoor event in Michigan. The USAT series is a circuit of events held across the nation to select the United States Archery Team. No event in Michigan currently provides an opportunity to practice for this intensive season. This event also offers an excellent opportunity for NASP and S3DA archers to experience an outdoor tournament with the inclusion of the Basic compound and Compound PINS divisions.
We are also excited to offer Developmental Divisions. These special categories will offer either reduced distances or larger target sizes to accommodate the developing archer who is not quite ready for regular category standards. We hope this exciting addition will help spur development of outdoor archery participation.
This event will feature:
The Competitive Advantage SHOWDOWN takes place over 2 days, June 24th & 25th, 2023.
This event is sanctioned by USA Archery, the organization recognized by the U.S. Olympic Committee as the National Governing Body of the Olympic sport of archery. USA Archery is responsible for selecting and training men’s and women’s teams to represent the United States in Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, and Pan American Games, as well as World Championships, World Cups, and other international competitions.
The Competitive Advantage SHOWDOWN complies fully with both World Archery (the international governing body for the sport of archery for World Archery Championships, Olympic Games, and World Games, among others) and USA Archery rules.
The tournament format is a 72 arrow qualification round on the first day, followed the next day by elimination round match play for the top 64 seeded archers in each category (division & discipline).
Awards will be provided for the top 3 individuals in the elimination round for each class listed in the division classes below. Additionally, the male and female champions of each division will face off in a single match to determine the title of Grand Champion for each age and discipline.
