2022 Papago 900 Halloween Shoot

Dust off your costume and warm up your bow, the internationally famous Papago 900 Halloween Shoot is back on at the Papago Archery Range (directions)! Come out, shoot archery, show off your costume, go home with a medal and a costume contest prize!

Tournament information:

  • Check-in and equipment inspection starts at 7:30 AM, first official practice end starts at 8 AM.
  • Senior and Master (50+, 60+, 70+) divisions: $35 per archer, Youth divisions: $30 per archer – paid with PayPal during registration
  • There are no refunds after October 21st!
  • Divisions: Barebow/Genesis, Recurve, Compound
  • The Papago Archery Range has benches and portable toilets. There is no shade on the range! Please bring additional chairs and canopies as needed.
  • Archers will be provided with ice cold water!
  • Parking is directly adjacent to the range in the paved lot or the gravel lot just north of it. No parking is allowed in other areas, park rangers will stop the tournament if a car is found parked outside a designated parking area!

  • Best Adult Costume (18 and older)

Requirements:

  • Archers must have a current USA Archery (USAA) National Archery Association membershipTemporary memberships are available and a copy of a renewal email will satisfy the membership requirement if your membership card doesn’t come in time. Every archer must be prepared to show proof of USA Archery membership at the tournament. You will not be able to register for USA Archery at the tournament, please take care of this before the event!
  • Payment must be received via PayPal when registration is completed. Payments are only accepted online. No registration is complete until payment is received. Payment cannot be taken at the archery range.
  • Archers must follow all USA Archery Arizona rules and procedures.
  • All archers should follow USA Archery Tournament Rules and the USA Archery Dress Code during practice sessions and tournament shooting. Exceptions to the dress code will be made for archers participating in the costume contest. Camo bows are allowed for the Halloween shoot.
  • Archers must read and agree to be bound to the Liability Releaseand Photo Release.

The Fine Print:

  • Recurve and Barebow divisons shoot a 900 round on 122cm target faces: 3 rounds at 3 distances, 5 ends of 6 arrows per round (30 arrows).
  • Compound division archers will use 2 122cm five-ring center spot target faces.
  • 50+ (formerly Master), Senior, and U21 (formerly Junior) archers shoot at 60, 50, and 40 meters.
  • U18 (formerly Cadet) archers shoot at 50, 40, and 30 meters.
  • U15 (formerly Cub) archers shoot at 40, 30, and 20 meters.
  • U13 (formerly Bowman) archers shoot at 30, 25, and 20 meters.
  • Yeoman archers (ages 7-9) shoot at 20, 15, and 10 meters.

  • Archers are allowed to shoot up in a higher division if desired
