USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification Practical

Important Registration Information

Registration closes one week prior to the class date. This allows participants enough time to complete the required online coursework before attending the practical portion.

If you complete the online coursework after the registration deadline, please call the range to discuss whether you can still participate.

Course Description

The USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification Course provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to safely introduce archery to beginners and maintain a high level of safety both on and off the range.

Level 1 Instructors learn about:

• Range safety and setup

• The steps of shooting

• Archery equipment and basic equipment repair

• Program development and lesson planning

• Teaching beginner archery programs

• Working with participants of various ages and abilities

• Instruction across a variety of archery disciplines

Upon completion, instructors will be prepared to teach safe, engaging beginner archery programs.

Benefits of Level 1 Certification

• Qualified to serve as the lead instructor for an Explore Archery Program

• Eligible for USA Archery insurance coverage, subject to applicable requirements. See the USA Archery Insurance page for details.

• Level 1 Instructors assisting with a USA Archery Club are required to obtain a Range Pass

Minors

Participants must be 15 years of age or older.

Guardians must sign an additional waiver for minors who will be left at the range unattended.

Please note: Level 1 certification is not a prerequisite for Level 2. Participants may take the Level 2 course without completing Level 1; however, additional costs may apply.

Prerequisites & Registration

The Level 1 certification consists of an online portion and a practical course.

Before attending the practical course, you must:

1. Create an account/login at usarchery.org.

2. Complete the required USA Archery Level 1 online coursework.

3. Register for the practical course through both Amilia and USA Archery.

USA Archery:

Important: You cannot register for the practical portion through USA Archery until the required online portion has been completed.

The online coursework has additional costs associated with it. Please allow enough time to complete the online requirements before the registration deadline.
