LEVEL 1 INSTRUCTOR PRACTICAL

This registration is for the practical portion of the Level 1 certification process.


This course is for current Camp Edey Girl Scout Camp only. You must have completed online training, and level 1 exam, prior to class. Contact administrator prior to registering.

The Level 1 Instructor Course graduates will be familiar with range set-up and safety, basic equipment maintenance and  repair, distribution of equipment, lesson plans, steps of shot cycle, games and challenges to enhance learning and ensure a safe environment to enjoy archery for participants, instructors and spectators. Level 1 Instructors are well prepared to teach beginner archery programs to people of all ages and abilities in a variety of both indoor and outdoor settings in the disciplines of target, field or 3-D archery. The curriculum is designed to build a strong foundation for those looking to provide opportunities in archery to students of all ages.  This course will take approximately 4 hours. 


Course Length: 4 hours (Dependent on class size)

Course Cost: $75.00 per person (includes materials needed for course)

Certification Period: Three years from the date of course completion

Prerequisites:  

  • Complete the Level 1 Online Course

  • Must be 15 years old or older

  • Membership to USA Archery* or the National Field Archery Association (NFAA)

Dr. Anthony M. Romeo II is a level 3 NTS coach. Coach Romeo currently is head coach of Suffolk Archers JOAD and head coach of the Stony Brook University College (New York) archery team. He is presently the president of Suffolk Archers, a member owned archery club of over 500 members located on Long Island, New York. He is a certified bow technician through the George Chapman School of Archery, and fosters the sport of hunting as a New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Hunters Education instructor. As pro-staff for Feradyne Outdoors, he competes and has received placements in various competitions for 3D, NFAA Field Archery, and target leagues.
