USA Archery Board of Directors Election Candidates

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - 2019 is a Board of Directors election year for USA Archery. Earlier this summer, USA Archery announced that the Grassroots (JOAD Club), Judge and At Large Director seats were open for election and solicited nominations. Nominations were also solicited for the open Independent Director seat but per the USA Archery Bylaws this seat is filled by the Nominating and Governance Committee.

The USA Archery Nominating and Governance Committee completed the 2019 USA Archery Board of Directors tentative candidate selection process, authorized candidates' background checks, collected candidate statements and reviewed ballot preparation. The ballots and voting instructions will be sent to all eligible USA Archery members and clubs that are on file via e-mail when the election opens on Wednesday, September 25th.  Those members who do not have an e-mail address will receive their ballot by USPS mail. Eligible voting members will have until 5pm MT on Friday, October 25th to cast their ballots via the Election America electronic voting service.

Grassroots (JOAD Club) Director

• Rodney Estrada
• Jeffrey Klein
• John Stover (incumbent)
• Arvid L. Veidmark III
• Diana M. Withers
• Christopher Worthen

Grassroots (JOAD Club) voter requirements (were modified per a Bylaws change approved by the Board of Directors in July):

• The identified Primary Contact of a JOAD (or “Both”) Club with a club membership current as of September 10, 2019;
• (NEW) The Club’s Primary Contact must have a “current” status individual USA Archery membership as of September 10, 2019 in one of the following type of memberships: Adult, Collegiate, Life, Honorary, Family;
• Primary Contact must be a U.S. Citizen; and
• Primary Contact must be 18 years or older as of September 25, 2019 when the election opens.

Judge Director

• Michael Cullumber (incumbent)
• Douglas Ludwig

Judge Director Voting Requirements:

• Must have a “current” status individual membership as of September 10, 2019 in one of the following type of memberships: Adult, Collegiate, Life, Honorary, Family;
• Individual must hold a current “Certified” (or above -which would include National) Judge certification as of September 10, 2019;
• Must be a U.S. Citizen; and
• Must be 18 years or older as of September 25, 2019.

At Large Director

• A. Robert Kaufhold (incumbent)
• Cindy Poorman
• Scott Starnes
• Donald T Young

At Large Voting Requirements:

• Must have a “valid” status individual membership as of September 10, 2019 in one of the following type of memberships: Adult, Collegiate, Life, Honorary, Family;
• Must be a U.S. Citizen; and
• Must be 18 years or older as of September 25, 2019.

It is important for all eligible members to participate in this process. The Nominating and Governance Committee volunteered their time in reviewing the candidates and providing the necessary steps in the election.
