The USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Course is designed to give archery instructors the necessary skills to teach the BSA archery merit badge, short-term archery programs, and introduce basic archery skills to beginners. The class geared toward those working with JOAD clubs, 4-H clubs, Boy Scout and Girl Scout camps and summer camps. We will cover range safety, range set-up, basic archery equipment set-up and repair, and how to teach the basic steps of shooting.
The Level 2 Archery Instructor Certification
Course includes the Level 1 Instructor material and provides new instructors with
an introduction to the National Training System (NTS) shooting form/technique for
both recurve and compound bows, releasing the bow string with fingers and mechanical
release aids. The Level 2 course will also discuss archery athlete training
methods and the different archery events. It also qualifies the new instructors
to teach the Level 1 Instructor Course. Graduates of the Level 2 Instructor
Course are prepared to serve as the lead instructor for long-term archery programs
such as the JOAD program, Collegiate Archery clubs, and the Explore Archery
Program.
