Level 1 Practical at The Summit Bechtel National Reserve (Staff Only)

SBR Level 1 Practical for Staff Members Only for the 2025 Summer Season

The Boy Scout Summit Bechtel Reserve provides required training in order for permanent and seasonal staff to perform their jobs. This Level 1 Practical course is the second part of a two-step process to complete US Archery Level 1. Students must complete the Level 1 Online class before registering for this class scheduled for Wednesday June 4, 2025. Registration must be completed for this Level 1 Practical on or before June 3, 2025. 

US Archery Level 1 provides the necessary tools to maintain a high level of safety on and off the archery range.  The student will learn about range safety, range setup, steps of shooting, equipment and repair. A USA Archery Level 1 Instructor or higher certification is required to operate Scouts BSA, Venture, Explorer and Sea Scout archery ranges and teach Cub Scout Range Master training. The Level 1 Practical is a four hour “in-person” class and may be registered by the student upon completion of the L1 online class. This Practical Level 1 will be held at the Joe Crafton Skills Center at Action Point  on June 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM EST.

The USA Archery certification is good for three years and can be renewed online.
