This Practical Course is for Instructors or Coaches who have passed their Level 3-NTS Online Course and are ready to complete their Level 3-NTS Coach Certification. Upon completion of Certification you will be: 1) Qualified to Instruct Level 1 Instructor Certification Courses; 2) Eligible to apply for Level 2 Instructor Trainer Certification; 3) Qualified to be a Lead Instructor for a JOAD or Adult Archery Program, a Collegtiate Program, and an Explore Archery Program; 4) Eligible for USAA insurance coverage.
The Level 3-NTS Coach Certification Course moves away from group instruction and focuses on individual athlete development. Students in the Level 3-NTS Course will be exposed to presentations and open discussions on such topics as Quality Coaching, Coaching Ethics & Leadership, The Learning Process, Coaching Methods for Improved Motor Learning, Correction & Feedback Methods, The National Training System (NTS), NTS for Recurve, NTS for Compound, The Mental Process, Movement Analysis, Training Theory, Practice Sessions (Planning, Execution & Design), Athlete Development, Coaching Philosophy and Coach Development.
The primary instructor in this course will be Bob Ryder, Level 4-NTS Coach & Level 3-NTS Coach Trainer. Bob is a past All-American, National Champion and US Archery Team Member; has certified 100's of Coaches to Level 2 & 3; has written over 50 articles and one book on Coaching Archery ("Bob Ryder on Coaching Collegiate Archery"); has been named Collegiate National Coach of the Year 4 times, and has coached produced 42 All-Americans, 16 National Champions, 23 National Team Titles, and 14 World Champions. Darryll Diehl, Level 3 NTS Coach, will assist in the instruction. As a 2 time NFAA National Champion, Darryll will provide his insights in Competitive Archery and Coaching with his extensive Compound experience and expertise.
Prerequisites - 1) Minimum Age 18, and 2) Must hold a current Level 2 Instructor Certification for a period or 1 year or (Pass the Level 3 Test-In Exam & verify 3 years of documented experience as an archery instructor).
Certification Requirements - 1) Membership in USA Archery, National Field Archery Association (NFAA), or the Archery Shooters Association (ASA); 2) USA Archery Background Screening; and 3) Safesport Training.
Certification Valid - Three (3) years from date of course completion.
Course Fee & Registration - Fees for this Level 3-NTS Coach Certification - Practical Course are $250 per person, including Lunches, with special rates available for JMU Students.
