Level 3 NTS Practical Course @ Robin Hood Archery Academy

This Level 3-NTS Practical course is for instructors or coaches who has passed their Level 3-NTS Online course. On passing, you will receive many benefits that include (i) Qualified to instruct Level 1 Instructor Certification Courses, (ii) Eligible to apply for Level 2 Instructor Trainer Certification, (iii) Qualified to be a lead instructor for an Explore Archery Program, and a JOAD, Adult, or Collegiate Program, and (iv) Eligible for USAA insurance coverage.

 

The Level 3 NTS Coach Certification Course moves away from a group instruction and focuses on individual athlete development.  Students in the Level 3 NTS Coach Certification Course will be introduced to the following principles:

·      Correction & Feedback Methods

·      The National Training System (NTS)

·      NTS for Recurve

·      Coach Development 

 

Prerequisites

Minimum age is 19

Must hold a current Level 2 Instructor certification for a period of one year, OR

Pass the Level 3 Test-In exam AND

Verify 3 years of documented archery instructor experience.

Certification Requirements

Membership to USA Archery*, National Field Archery Association (NFAA) or Archery Shooters Association (ASA)

USA Archery Background Screening

SafeSport training

Note: Mental Management 101/102 are no longer a requirement

* A USA Archery Temporary, Recreational, and/or Youth Membership will not satisfy the membership requirement.

 Certification valid for three years from the date of course completion.

 

Benefits

Recommendation to prepare for practical course

Ensure you have adequate time to complete the online portion via Sport 80 (link will be emailed after registration)

The online portion is 8 hours. To ensure solid comprehension of the new materials, it is recommended to allow longer, if possible.

Make notes as you go through the online course to refer to and to help commit key points to memory.

L3 is an intensive course. Be prepared to clear your mind and be able to focus on learning.

Coach Josahan Jaime-Sambrano is a Level 4 NTS coach with 30 years of experience in the sport. She has conducted coach certification courses and coach training seminars for over 10 years and certified hundreds of instructor and coach candidates. She was a professional archery coach for 14 years working with the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center programs, USA Archery, NFAA programs, and as a collegiate coach for the Mount Marty University archery team and the University of South Dakota archery club. Coach Jos was the recipient of the 2019 USA Archery National Collegiate Coach of the Year award.
