Level 3-NTS Practical Course

The Level 3-NTS Practical Course provides Level 3-NTS Coach candidates the opportunity to learn, practice, improve, and develop the necessary skills to be qualified as a Level 3-NTS Coach.  You will need to complete the Level 3-NTS Online Coach Course prior to being allowed to attend the practical course.  The cost of the course is $325 and will be paid through the sport80 registration website.

The Practical course will last 16 hours over a two day period and will focus on providing practical application of the information taught in the online course.  Specifically, the course will aim to develop candidates ability to model the shot process, teach the shot process, utilize the coaching tools and methods presented in the online course, and apply training session design to develop athletes of various levels.

This course will be taught by Dave Stauffer, along with assistance from Katie Novotny, both of whom are Level 4 NTS Coaches.  Dave has over 35 years of shooting experience with 20 years of coaching experience and is currently a coach for the Club Archery team at San Jose State University.  He is an active competitor in local and national tournaments and has coached multiple national champions.  Katie has won multiple national championships spanning both bowhunter freestyle and traditional recurve disciplines.  She currently coaches several private students and specializes in adapting archery to fit your needs.

The course will be mostly taught in Sunnyvale, CA with a field trip to either Palomo Archery in Palo Alto, or Black Mountain Bowmen in South San Jose with time prearranged to practice your new coaching skills on some archery students.
