GSEM USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Practical

Dear Participant,

Thank you for using gsLearn to sign up for the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Practical on Tuesday, June 7, 1-5 pm at Camp Cedarledge, 8501 Girl Scout Camp Road, Pevely, MO 63070.

***Please following information carefully***

You may not participate in the practical skills session unless you have successfully completed USA Archery 1 Instructor Online Course and Exam on the USA Archery website. In addition, USA Archery will not issue a course certification unless the participant has logged their choice of practical skills session on the USA Archery website. Completion of the required tasks on the USA Archery website is the responsibility of the participant.

 

Only after successfully completing both the online and in-person portions of the course will a participant receive their official USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification. This certification is valid for three years and can be renewed online.

 

The online course contains 10 separate modules and may take 3-4 hours to complete. Participants may leave and return to the course at their convenience. At the end of each module is a brief knowledge check quiz that requires a score of 100% to move to the next module (unlimited retakes). At the end of the course is a 66-question final exam that requires a score of 75% to pass (maximum five retakes).

 

Before beginning the online course, please carefully review the instructions below and be sure to thoroughly read all instructions provided on the USA Archery website.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING THE ONLINE COURSE

 

·        Go to the USA Archery website (usarchery.sport80.com) and log into or create your USA Archery Membership Services Account

·        Select your Personal Account tile on the homepage (click on your name)

·        Select ‘Courses’ from the menu on the far-left side of the screen

·        In the course list that appears, search for USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Online Course and select ‘Enter’ to the right of the course name

·        After reading the course information, scroll down and click the red ‘Next’

·        Select ‘Add New Entry’

·        Click the green ‘Add’ button next to the appropriate course name and then click ‘Next’

·        Proceed through the USA Archery registration form and select ‘Checkout’ to pay for your course ($40)

·        To access the online course, return to your Personal Account homepage and again click on the tile with your name

·        In the menu of options under your profile, scroll down and select ‘Access USA Archery Education Hub, which will automatically direct you to the Education Hub where you will find and complete your online course

·        After successfully completing the online course, return to the course listing and search for and select the appropriate Level 1 Practical Girl Scouts course (look for the date you originally registered for in gsLearn) to log your choice of in-person practical skills session with USA Archery

·        Attend and successfully complete the in-person practical skills session

 

Please bring to class:

·       Paper, pen/pencil, and highlighter

·       Snacks and drinks (refillable water bottle is preferred)

·       Lawn chair, if desired

 

In addition to the information and practice provided on the recurve bow, USA Archery Level 1 training includes instruction specific to the Genesis Compound Bow. If you do not have experience using a compound bow, you are encouraged to review the tutorials provided at https://genesisbow.com/resources/ before attending class.

Within 10 days of skills session completion, your official USA Archery certificate will be available to download at https://www.usarchery.org/dashboard/login. Once you have completed the online course with USA Archery, the in-person skills session must be completed within one year.
