The Level 1 Instructor's Course covers learning how to shoot archery, archery range set-up, archery range safety, rules, procedures, commands and the teaching the basics of the NTS Shooting Form. There is a final written exam; which you must pass with 75% or better; and a practical exam. Once you pass the written and practical exams, you will be certified as a Level 1 Instructor. USA Archery will send your certifications to you via email.
The Level 1 Instructor's Course is a blended learning process comprised of two components: an online course and an in person practical course. The online course must be completed before the in person practical course is available. You can register and take the online course at https://www.usarchery.org/coaches/become-a-coach/level-1-instructor-certification. The fee for the online course is $40.00 and is payable when you register for the online course.
The Level 1 Instructor's Practical Course will be held here at the Outdoor Education Center in Dowling, Michigan. The practical course runs on Monday April4, 2022 from 9:30 am to 1:30pm. The fee for the practical course is $100. The fee for the practical course is due on April 4 before you begin the practical course and is payable to Tom Kelly in the form of check or cash.
The practical course will be taught by Tom Kelly USA Archery Level 3 Coach and Instructor Trainer. Coach Kelly has taught archery and certified instructors all over the state of Michigan. This has included many Camps, Scout Groups, The Salvation Army, Outdoor Discovery Center, Byron Center Parks and Recreation, Farmington Hills Riley Archery Range, West Michigan Archery Center and the Detroit Archers.
