2023 USA Archery Coaches Workshop

New for 2023, the Coaches Workshop will include two sessions:

Session 1.0 August 19-20

Session 2.0 August 21

Location: Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, CO

Session 1.0

This two-day event will focus on developing specific coaching skills for Level 3, Level 4, and Level 5 coaches. Level 2 Instructors interested in attending may contact Director of Education, Guy Krueger at [email protected].

Session 2.0

This one-day event is designed for coaches who have previously attended the 2022 Coaches Workshop and will take a deeper dive into how to improve coaching skills.

The Coaches Workshop will be unique from the Virtual Symposium in that it will focus entirely on developing coaches’ skills through deliberate practice, micro-coaching sessions, and feedback.

The goal of these sessions is that each coach will leave the workshop as a better coach than when they arrived. Practice and participation will be a critical element of this workshop and USA Archery will provide a safe place for coaches to learn and grow.

The workshop will focus on developing the following skills:

  • Providing different types of feedback and coaching
  • How to Coach Skills
  • Technical Analysis
  • Cueing
  • Planning Training
  • Designing fun, challenging, and engaging training activities
  • Creating a community of practice for coaches
