COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (August 12, 2005) - Two new individuals were elected to the National Archery Association (NAA) Board of Governors (BOG) at the Annual Meeting earlier this month. Two-time Olympic Coach Lloyd Brown (San Diego, Calif.) was elected as a West Region Representative for a four-year term. Brown is replacing Brooks Matsuda (Sacramento, Calif.), who served on the BOG for the past four years. Brown is an NAA Level 5 Master Coach and has served in numerous roles over the last 20 years in the NAA, serving twice as Olympic Team Coach, four times as World Team Coach, starting new JOAD clubs, training instructors and coaches, directing tournaments, sitting on committees and coaching athletes of all levels.
Guy Gerig (Deer Park, N.Y.) was elected the Active Archer Recurve Representative to the BOG. Gerig has been a member of the United States Archery Team (USAT) for eight out of the last ten years and is a regular at most of the major tournaments nation-wide. Gerig will serve a two-year term.
Four-time Olympian Darrell Pace (Hamilton, Ohio) was re-elected as a representative to the North Region and was also re-elected as President of the BOG. West Region Representative Allen Rasor (Marana, Ariz.) was elected First Vice President and USOC Athletes Advisory Council (AAC) Representative to the BOG Joe McGlyn (Floral Park, N.Y.) was elected Second Vice President.
Jane Johnson (Oklahoma City, Okla.) was re-elected as South Region Representative and Randel “Pee Wee” Turner (Jamaica, N.Y.) was re-elected as East Region Representative.
Board of Justice
Former AAC Rep. to the BOG Ruth Rowe (McLean, Va.) was elected to the Board of Justice (BOJ) for the East and MJ Rogers (Redlands, Calif.) was elected as the West Region Representative. Rowe will serve a three-year term and Rogers will serve for four years.
