The 121st National Target Championships/U.S. Grand Prix
July 30 – August 5, Colorado Springs, CO 


Tournament Information

The National Archery Association of the United States is please to extend this invitation for your participation in this year’s National Championships in Colorado Springs, CO. We encourage you to share information from this registration packet with your fellow archers. A separate registration is required for each participant, so you may make photocopies of the registration for use by others.

Venue: The site will be at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs, CO, which is located at 1605 East Pikes Peak Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80909. Colorado Springs is 60 miles from Denver International Airport.

Format: The general format will be similar to that of recent years…two (2) full FITA rounds to determine the U.S. National Champions, followed by the U.S. Open Elimination Round on Friday, August 5, 2005. To ensure internationally consistent tournament procedures, multiple target faces will be used at 30 meters for the Senior, Master 50+, and Junior divisions (except Barebow). Masters 60+ and 70+ will shoot single-spot faces.

Requirements: Advance registration is mandatory for all divisions except for the Team Competition, which will be handled on-site. U.S. Citizens must be NAA or NFAA members (thru August 5, 2005), and eligible according to FITA rules. NFAA members should enclose a copy of their current membership card (showing expiration date) with their registration. NAA members should submit renewal fees with their registration if they will not be current thru August 5, 2005. All NAA & NFAA members will be asked to present a current NAA or NFAA membership card when checking in at the tournament registration desk on Sunday, July 31, 2005 or be prepared to purchase an NAA membership upon arrival. International participants are welcome.

Dress Code: The NAA dress code will be in effect for all Official Practice rounds and competition. Skirts, skorts, shorts or trousers may be either white, navy blue or khaki and may be constructed of any suitable material other than blue denim. Shorts and skorts must reach the archer's fingertips when standing, as according to FITA rule 3.22.1.1, bullet 3. Blouses, collared shirts and T-shirts may be composed of any color or combination of colors. For women, all upper garment shoulder straps must conform to a three inches or larger strap width. Men are required to wear long or short-sleeved shirts. At no time may camouflage clothing be worn as an upper or lower body garment. Competitors must wear footwear at all times during the tournament. Each archer must comply with FITA regulation as well as the NAA dress code.
